The use of a magnet is a pretty important part of The Emotion Code, and you’ll probably want to use one 99% of the time. But there are a few situations where you may not want to use one at all. We recommend to always err on the side of caution. Here are some situations when you’ll want to avoid using a magnet:
- Pregnancy – if your client is pregnant, you should not use a magnet. We have never had any problems with using a magnet on a pregnant woman, but if the baby is born with problems, you could be held responsible. (If you were a distraught parent with a sick newborn you would be looking for any potential cause, right?)
- Pacemakers – Magnets (especially powerful ones) can interfere with the inner workings of pacemakers, which can create a life-threatening situation.
- Any other implanted device like a hearing aid or an insulin pump; these can also be destroyed or interfered with by magnetic energy.
- Someone in a coma or hooked up to medical machinery; either use a weak refrigerator magnet with the attending doctor’s permission (just ask if the magnet will interfere with their machinery), or don’t use any magnet at all.
Magnetic sensitivity – many of the clients you will attract will be familiar with magnets and may tell you they are sensitive to magnetic energy. For people like this, use either a refrigerator magnet or none at all.
